I prefer function over eye candies, however a good UI is a bless from the best of both worlds. When I look at a pretty UI like this, I'd think "How does the basic phone function work?" If the basics are lost, It won't be a damn good phone.
By the way, I like SE's slogan "Make. Believe" a lot more than HTC's new "Quietly Brilliant". The latter is dull and meaningless to me. Maybe I should write something about it.
