“Men’s Curry”

"Men's Curry"

This is a box of Japanese curry blocks I encountered in a nearby supermarket. Dubbed "Men's Curry" on the box, the taste was curious to me. Is it curiously strong or spicy? Will I smell like curry for a whole week, or look so cool like the red dude on the box if I taste it?

Well, since I prefer beef-flavored curry over chickened one, I didn't buy this after all. But I happen to find myself look like the cool Indian (?) guy. Here's the proof:

Me in the Curry Man outfit

This is my photo after some crude photoshopping. Take it with a grain of salt. :)

Update: A friend told me that there is a chocolate cookie snack called "Men's Pocky" in Japan. I searched for it and found that it does exist. However the name is kind of embarrassing..., since "Pocky" sound like "Bocky", the Japanese slang meaning "erection". :P

Pot stickers

Two good things to have living in Taiwan:

 1. We have spicy pot stickers that are traditional Chinese pot stickers with Korean kimchi in the filling. That's where innovation kicks in.

 2. You can have a whole bunch of the pot stickers and a bowl of fish ball soup for merely US$4. That's what we call living standard. :)

Quick dinner

On my way to the evening Japanese class, I had a pancake for dinner, Taiwanese style of course.

It's also called "tossed pancake" here, as the preparing process requires some tossing to make it soft and fluffy.

Chinese basil and pickled cabbage were added for more taste, and the optional NT$5 egg was an even more welcomed addition to the feat.

Oh yes, Taiwanese soy sauce, which is a little bit sweeter and sticky than what you may have had, is also an indispensible touch to the fulfilling experience. All these can be yours for only US$0.90 to go. Nice.
